This list is all the books that have shaped me into the person I am today. I always say that whatever you open yourself up to, you become. This being the books you read, the music you listen to and the Tv series you binge watch. So If you are stuck in a place in your life, where you feel as though you aren’t moving forward, then maybe change the things you do/read/watch and it’ll totally change your life.
Here is the golden list:
HOW TO BE A BADASS (Jen Sincero)-Definitely one of my favourite books, its just a whole lot of life changing messages and tips that I couldn’t help but follow. If you are stuck in a rut in your life, then read this book! Seriously. Its about making money, surrounding yourself with successful people-just like you, manifesting everything you desire in life, understanding other people, being a better person and just being all round stoked. You could call it a self-help book. So funny and well written.
HOW TO BE A BADASS AT MAKING MONEY (Jen Sincero)-Pretty much the same sort of thing as the top book, except this is all about how to be successful, so if you are like me and crave to have a happy and successful life, read this one. Talks about how to push past comfort zones, how to move away from people who aren’t bringing you higher, and how to move past your subconscious fears of money so you can be a trillionare (if thats what you desire).
CLEAN GUT (Alejandro junger)- I would recommend this book to anyone that loves anything about health and nutrition, or anyone that has continuous sicknesses, diseases, chronic fatigue, or just not feeling the best they should be feeling. Its teaches you about the gut and your digestion, and if it have been damaged then all sorts of bad things are going to show up in your body. Its also a 21 day diet cleanse (all of the recipes and help is in the book, you don’t have to buy a separate book), that helps heal the gut, by cutting out all the trigger foods and also gluten and dairy. This is the ‘diet’ I’m following after my trip to Asia to get rid of any parasites I picked up.
PUSSY: A RECLAMATION (Regena Thomashauer)- Even from the title its gets people riled up, or being turned off from reading it. But thats the whole idea, to get the word out there, to get it normalised the way it should be. If you are someone who has sexuality issues, problems with feeling ‘womanly’, then read this book! Or anybody else, cause its all about reuniting women, tips on helping yourself, which in turn helps others. Dis ones a goodie.
THE ALCHEMIST (Paulo Coelho)-All about finding your personal mission, or purpose in life. Also, connecting back to the meaning of life, and how all the universe is connected. Written like a story, so you come to your own conclusion as to what the book is about. Beautifully written, and makes you want to go out right now and take on the world.
THE CHINA STUDY (T. Colin Campbell)- This book has literally hundreds of facts and clinical evidence, also people based evidence, about why a plant based diet heals all cancers, diseases, obesity, diabetes etc. Hell of a lot of reading but worth it. If you find it difficult to read this book, then there is a movie based on it called ‘forks over knives’, which is also really good. Its said that most people change their diet based on the first few chapters alone.
THE UNTETHERED SOUL (Michael A. Singer)-This book will legit blow your mind. Its all about realising that you have a conscious mind and a unconscious mind, and stepping away from the goings on in your mind, also about the energy that you have inside and around you, and deciding to open or close yourself when something happens to you. Nuts from beginning to end.
THE SECRET LANGUAGE E OF YOUR BODY (Inna Segal)- Listening to your body is the most important thing you can do. This book just explains it all, by going through each part of your body and if its not feeling the way it should, it tells you the reason why, and how to heal that. This could be through feeling your feelings, bringing up anything that has been hidden and then letting it go. A different way to look at the way you can heal yourself.
THE SECRET (Rhonda Byrne)-One of the most important books anyone can read. Once you get into this book, lots of other books similar will somehow find you. ‘The Secret’ being, whatever you think comes into existence. You create your own reality, as the universe wants you too succeed. Ever been thinking of someone or something you haven’t seen in years, and then holy moly, they somehow show up in the next minute/hour? Thats the power of your thoughts. SOOOO what I’m trying to say here is that you can literally have anything you desire in life, crazy right?
TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (Harper Lee)-Im sure everyone had to read this for English class, but I highly highly recommend it. I first read this when I was 12, but I’ve read it twice more after that, and it keeps getting better. I reckon this is so important to read, especially at this time in our history.
GOOD GUT BUGS (Kathryn Marsden)–A book that I’m reading at the moment, filled with facts and statistics that everyone needs to hear, how we can cure ourselves naturally, without all the medication that is unnecessary. Essentially the probiotics and prebiotic in our gut and what they are.
THE TOLTEC ART OF LIFE AND DEATH (Don Miguel Ruiz)-Like I can’t actually explain what this book is about because damn its got everything. My top book for making me think outside the box that I have put myself in. Makes you think about who YOU are and why we are here. Are you getting me on what type of book it is? Its an important read so do it.
THE FOUR AGREEMENTS- (Don Miguel Ruiz)- Also another goodie from good ol don, this time he goes through the four agreements that you should follow In life: 1. Be Impeccable with your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the Word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your Word in the direction of truth and love. 2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering. 3. Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret. He goes through all these way more in-depth. If you are wanting to get out of some harmful habits and repetitive toxic behaviour, then read this.
OWN THE DAY, OWN YOUR LIFE (Aubrey Marcus)- This book is so good. Aubrey goes through the whole day from how to wake up, what to eat, how to work effectively, naps (yes he tells you to nap everyday, no complaints on that one), how to train and so much more. He is such a legend so I’m all about taking tips from this guy, and I definitely took a few things from this book and incorporated into my life. Full of some great knowledge.
And just a helpful tip, buy them as soon as you can. Even though some of these books are a little expensive ($10-25nz for an e-book), it is so worth spending money on investing in yourself, to be the best version you can be. Even if I personally don’t feel as though I have enough money to spend on another book, I always do it because I know it’ll be worth it in the end because I learnt something new that will help me in the long run. (You’ll have to read ‘how to be a badass at making money’, to also get this mindset, just saying).
