Energy Balls

This is not a smoothie, are you as shocked as I am?

Instead I decided to step out of my comfort zone and share something that I eat almost everyday when my sister decides to make them, (thanks Sezza), these being energy/protein/snack/anything balls.

I have recently just discovered the F45 gym and these balls are a lifesaver when I need a instant burst of energy before or after my session, as they are filled with loads of good stuff,  and I usually pack them full of almonds to get a good amount of protein in, but this is completely optional.

The best thing about them? Completely guilt free, no added sugar, oils, or preservatives, so you can snack on these bad boys whenever, wherever, and your body will still love you! How good?


What you need:

(Sorry that these are so badly measured out, but these measurements made around 15 balls. So just make up your own, depending on how much you want!)

  1. Handful of pitted dates, soaked in boiling water for 10 minutes
  2. Handful of Raisins
  3. Handful of walnuts
  4. 1 cup of sunflower seeds
  5. 1 cup of almonds, soaked in boiling water for 10 minutes
  6. 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  7. 1/3 cup desiccated coconut
  8. Pinch of salt
  9. 1 Tbsp of peanut butter
  10. 1 cup of rolled oats
  11. 1/3 cup of cacao powder



So simple. So easy. SOOO GOOOOD.

The reason for soaking the dates and almonds is because you don’t want your food processor or blender to literally catch into flames, so yeah do that.

But! After those to ingredients are good to go, all you have to do is put all ingredients into a blender/food processor, pulse for a-bit, then blend until it is all ‘cut up’. Take it out, roll it into balls and voila, you have got yo snack!
